Here are some observations after a couple of days in Kiev. First, the traffic is very heavy. There are no speed limits and cars will go 70 MPH down main streets (Similar to High St.). Drag racing is also a perfectly accepted means of traveling. People drive on the sidewalks! As you can see in the picture, a car is driving down the sidewalk past several cars that are parked there already!

Next, everyone smokes. Smoking is going on everywhere!

People dress fantastic! They are walking around wearing clothes we would consider our "going out" clothes. High heels for the women and designer suits for men. We are dressed like we normally would and feel very dumpy and out of place.

There is no shortage of expensive high performance cars. The economy is reported as being depressed but there are so many $100,000 cars around it seems like we are in Beverly Hills.
